RIP Sweetheart of the Rodeo

April 28 and snow, snow, snow today!

My dear friend Dorothy Palmer passed away April 27, 2010 at the age of 85 years.  You may know her as the inspiration for my song "Sweetheart of the rodeo"  on my album "On a Song & a Prayer".  Her and Lou had an amazing life and they were married 60 years.  Listen to my song and you will know their story.

You will be sadly missed Dorothy, she was always at all my shows that she could make for the last 14 years.  But Lou is happy to see you.

Ride Cowgirl ride!

Love, Crystal

Texas and Louisiana

Hi Everyone...spring is here!  The ground hogs were right!
We just got back from two glorious weeks in Louisiana and Texas.  Went to Lafayette, Butte LaRose, New Orleans, Jennings.  In Texas we went to Kerrville, Gruene, Austin, Houston.  Saw my dear friends, Thank you to y'all..... Harvey & Sara Girourd & Family, Laura & Joe  LeBlanc, Grannie (Ann) Girourd, Tom & Pat Girourd, Nancy Tabb Marcantel, Judge Marcantel, Bruce & Sue Daigrepont, Andrea Nelson & Tom Green, John & Ania Cronin, Chuck & Cindy Brunet.  I got to sing with some wonderful muscians, thanks to Harvey Girourd and Craig Broussard from the Hydromatics in Louisiana and John Cronin, Dayle Simpson & Chris Guage in Austin.  Wonderful new friends I met.  The best food any where in Louisiana and west Texas was eaten by us!

If you ever need a beautiful place to stay in New Orleans please check out Terrell House B&B.  Linda O'Brian is the owner/operator.  The best beds, best food, absolutely amazing and not far from the French Quarter.  It's on magazine street and it is well worth the trip to stay at this authentic southern mansion built in 1857.  Better than any 5 star hotel you will ever stay in.  www.terrellhouse.com
When in Kerrville you have to visit our friends at Hill Country Music.  I got to sign the guest guitar with Robert Earl Keen's signature on it.  Our new friend Doug Edwards works there and makes hand made mandolins.  The finest in the land.  You can reach him at Hill Country Stringworks, check it out on the web.  hillcountrystringworks.com

My dear friend Nancy Tabb Marcantel got inducted into the Cajun Women Hall of Fame in Scott, La. April 17.  Congratulations Nancy!

On a sad note my long time dear friend Judi Beebe lost her father Claude Hollis on April 8.  A good man and a fan of mine.

See you done the road!

God Bless, Crystal
